Unleashing Black Girl Magic: From Setbacks to Slaying Goals!

Hey y’all,

I wanted to share a bit of my journey with you because, let’s be real, we all face those moments when we're like, "What's next?" So, here's how I stumbled upon the magic of electrolysis and decided to take make a change.

Back in Fall 2022, my coworker-turned-friend and mentor dropped some electrolysis game on me. At first, I was like, "Umm, sounds good…I’ll look into it." I knew nothing about it, so I kinda brushed it off and kept doing my thing.

Fast forward to January 2023, and guess what? My girl didn't wait for me. She started the electrology program, and left me in the dust (just as she should!).

March 2023 hit, and I was gut punched—a denied promotion. What?! I’m like one of the best, but OK… I was angry, disappointed…I was pissed. Talk about a reality check! I started questioning my whole career path, thinking, "Is this really where I'm meant to be?" I knew one thing for sure—I didn’t want to be somewhere that left me feeling unvalued. For years, I felt the need to get back to patient-centered work, but nursing school wasn't calling my name. I dreamed of something more, something where I could be my own boss and make a real difference.

Then, July 2023 came along, I was at what I thought was rock bottom at work. I was miserable and contemplated leaving KP all together, but then what would I do. This is all I’ve known for the last 18 years. But you know what they say about hitting rock bottom? It's the perfect foundation for a comeback.

So, here I am, diving into the world of electrolysis, creating my own path, and slaying my goals like a boss! It's not just about hair removal; it's about empowerment, confidence, and owning my journey.

To anyone feeling like your current job is more "meh" than "hell yeah!"? Well, guess what? It's totally fine to switch lanes and shake things up! Don't let fear hold you back from chasing that dream job or trying something new. Life's too short to be unhappy, and unfulfilled. YOLO!

Thanks for being part of my journey and supporting me along the way.

Stay lit,

Rhonda
